How to choose where to learn the cajon
You can learn the cajon at music schools and percussion studios, with private teachers and at clubs where people play together. In a one-to-one lesson the teacher works on your hand technique and sets the pace for you. Group cajon classes cost less and are more fun: from the very first lesson you learn to keep the beat together with others.
Before your first lesson, ask whether there are instruments in the classroom or you need your own cajon, how many people are in a group and whether you can come to a trial lesson. Between lessons, try our cajon rhythms with diagrams, the metronome and the virtual cajon — and you can pick an instrument of your own in our workshop catalog.
